After the company deciding to switch to a new ERP software decides which ERP to use, it is time to determine the main and detail phases of the project.

The duration of ERP projects varies depending on the size of the company purchasing the program, whether the business processes are ready, whether the company is engaged in production or not, and the number of modules to be used in ERP. Generally, the project duration varies between 6-18 months. There are also exceptions: In service companies with 4-5 users, you can get the project on its feet in 2-3 months, while in conglomerates that have switched to giant software such as SAP and Axapta, you may have to do projects for more than 2 years.

The main phases of the project will be as follows:

  • Identification of Key Users (Employees who will lead the project)
  • Analysis (Employees describing company processes and needs)
  • Design (Consultant company presenting its solutions for the needs)
  • Development (Design of screens and reports according to company needs)
  • Testing (Testing the improvements with users)
  • Setup (Defining system parameters)
  • Key User Trainings (In some projects it is end user training)
  • Parallel Use (Data entry to existing and new program at the same time)
  • Transition to Live
