What is Harmonic?

What are the sources that cause harmonic distortion?

It is divided into two as internal harmonics and external harmonics.

External Harmonics: Harmonics that affect our system through the electrical network we use.

Example: Spread of harmonics generated in other factories over the line

Internal harmonics: Harmonics caused by the devices we use inside the factory.

Phase controlled rectifiers and inverter circuits

Engines
Power control elements (Thyristor and Triac).
Battery charging systems.
Fluorescent lamps and ballasts.
Computers.
Drives
Ovens, etc. systems

Can Harmonics be Measured?
In order to measure harmonic distortions, it is possible to monitor through harmonic analyzers (products such as energy analyzer, network quality analyzer) and it is also possible to record and examine on the computer.
The sample device is as above.
